ExxonMobil, March 30th, 2020
What is Knowledge Management?
“It’s not SharePoint!” said Cynthia Gillespie, Senior Knowledge Management Specialist, UIS, with a laugh. “Knowledge Management is a set of processes and behaviors to help improve, identify, access, use and reuse knowledge.”
In other words, Knowledge Management helps people save, share and identify the critical information they and their business needs – now, and in the future.
The purpose of Knowledge Management
Knowledge Management’s purpose is to actively lead, support, and implement KM changes focused on identifying, capturing, maintaining, accessing, sharing and effectively using critical knowledge and information across the Upstream in support of Upstream Strategic objectives.
